I ordered this frame for my new headboard and footboard, it's fine although it was missing pieces, the manufacturer send them right away! Which was great.It seems to be very sturdy.

I am not sure why this item got some bad reviews because it is very easy to set-up. It takes about 5 minutes to have it all together. Solid design and very sturdy.

The frame arrived with two problems. 1. the middle bar has two holes on each end that are supposed to line up so i can stick a pin in them to secure it to the frame....well the holes did not line up so i was not able to secure the middle bar with the pins provided. 2. one of the feet was cracked.....it is still functional, but it was disappointing. other than that, it was fairly easy to put together and it holds my headboard and footboard well.

This bed frame is acceptable, but not better than that. It is painted rather than powder-coated, and the paint job is roughly done, not very smooth. In addition, the manufacturer's packaging was so poor that the frames had been rubbing up against each other and in many spots the paint was worn away to bare metal. The instruction sheet had been masticated to pieces by being left loose in the box among the grinding metal of the bed frames, so I had to piece it together to read it. The design of the frame is rather old-fashioned, and it required a lot of work to assemble--much more than this type of thing should require. Then, after I had it all together, I discovered that the holes on the end brackets where the head and footboard mount were too small to accept the permanently mounted bolts on my headboard and footboard. The openings are 5/16s (as closely as I can measure it), and my bolts were just a tad too large. So, after spending two hours assembling it, I had to spend another hour disassembling and re-packaging it since it did not work for its intended purpose. They should specify the openings on the mounting brackets or specify the size bolts it will accept. I found another frame from a company in North Carolina with 3/8 inch openings on the brackets that should work when it arrives.But, if your bolts will go through 5/16s openings, which is a common size, this is the only queen size frame for a headboard and footboard that I found on Amazon. Many other frames from other sellers are likely to have the same size openings. This one will work fine. Just expect to spend some time setting it up, and don't look too closely at the paint job, and make sure your bolts will fit or that you can replace them.I hate people who return things in an exploitative way that unfairly costs the retailer money and thus raises costs to everyone else. But I told Amazon exactly what the problem was, and they are paying for the shipping back. This is why I love buying stuff from Amazon, and why I purchase so much stuff from them on a weekly basis, everything from expensive camera lenses to toothpaste. Amazon gets 5 stars all year long.
